NIGC Plant Boutique at NIA Pancake breakfast 2019!
NIGC put on a 'pretty face' at the annual Plant Boutique on June 1 at Sandy Davidson's home. Lovely succulent gardens designed by Debbie Tebrich and blooming gardens were sold, as well as H+H Nursery's donated plants and potting soil and organic fertilizers donated by Kellogg. New this year were indoor plants which proved to be quite popular. Sales of all items were brisk and we sold it all! The profit was $2324 for the Beautification Fund and the attractive booths branded NI


Park Flag Replaced
As Spring 2019 came in “like a lion” the flag flying at La Bella Fontana park showed considerable wear and needed to be respectfully replaced. Once again, Mike Frakes, owner of Tri-City Tree Service, came to our aid and provided an experienced crew to climb the tall ladder to change out the flags. Mike also takes the damaged flag for disposal and ensures that it is handled in a proper and honorable way. Our new flag flying has been donated by Charl Alber in memory of Charles


Beautification Summer 2019
There was no 2019 summer vacation for the leaders and teams who garden at NIGC beautification projects. Naples School volunteers led by Debbie Tebrich kept their gardening steady throughout the summer in anticipation of the Measure M work, scheduled to begin in September. Stay tuned for details. Naples Plaza medians continued to look their best as Ginny Clark and volunteers weeded, treated mildew and deadheaded the Iceberg roses which responded with splendid cycles of bloomin


NIGC Wins State Awards In 2019
Our garden club belongs to the Orange County District of California Garden Clubs, Inc. and board members traveled to the lovely Sherman Gardens in Corona del Mar for their biennial installation on June 10. Beckie Splittgerber was installed as Director along with 5 other board members who will guide the district for the next 2 years. Summer Time in Provence 2019
On a beautiful June 12th, 2019 ninety-nine members and their guests enjoyed a taste of the French countryside at the Annual Luncheon themed “Summertime in Provence”. Ladies dined on a delicious cobb salad and decadent chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Sunny yellow sunflowers filled the room and adorned the tables at Old Ranch Countryclub. The décor highlight was the lifesize cutout of Louis Jourdan and a flower-filled bicycle basket, perfect for photos. French café music fil
