The annual Plant Boutique began as a table at the Naples Flea Market where potted plants and cuttings donated by members were sold. The decision was then made to go a little more upscale by adopting a "Rogers Gardens” atmosphere where the community could purchase cut-flower bouquets, terrariums, dish gardens, potted plants and gardening supplies while enjoying the Naples Pancake breakfast with their family and neighbors. The generous donations from Kellogg Garden Supplies and H & H Nursery, along with the enthusiastic support of members, help make this a very profitable event that supports ongoing Club projects to keep Naples looking beautiful.
The November Holiday Fundraiser has been held at Romance, Etc. for a number of years. It is an annual festive day of shopping and visiting with friends while enjoying delicious refreshments and wine provided by members. The proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Beautification Fund used to beautify the Community. Revenue comes from ticket and raffle sales and 15% of the day’s sales, which is generously donated to the Club by the store owners.
Flower Show Auction:
One of our most enjoyed social events is the Annual Flower Show where members have the opportunity to display their creations in many categories to be judged by professional judges. Flower arrangements, dish gardens, place settings and specimen pieces are entered for pleasure and awards. It is held annually at the Long Beach Yacht Club in spring. A silent auction with items donated by local merchants is organized as a fundraiser in conjunction with the Flower Show. It is always a delightful, happy occasion with a different theme every year.
Dine Out Fundraising:
Several times a year, local restaurant owners offer an evening where they generously donate 15% of their sales back to the Garden Club. This is an easy, fun way to fundraise! The restaurants chosen have wonderful ambience, the food is always delicious, members invite friends and a grand time is had by all...everybody wins!
