It was a sunny Veterans Day morning at La Bella Fontana Park when our community gathered to honor local veterans and families. After coffee and donuts were served, a drum cadence by Roland Misajon opened the program. Boy Scout Troop #105 posted the Colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance. NIGC President, Marianne Huntley, gave a warm welcome and along with Veterans Day Co-Chairs, Susie Armstrong and Deborah Smith, presented a floral wreath. Councilperson Suzie Price gave a patriotic community service speech, after which Marianne introduced and honored each of the nearly 40 Veterans who attended. Marilyn Bittle led our closing song tribute, “God Bless America.”

We thank our NIGC Veterans Day Committee and all organizations and individuals who helped with this special day.
