Ron Nelson, the Executive Director of the Long Beach Museum of Art gave a very informative presentation on the history of the museum and current activities. The Museum’s permanent collection is diverse, featuring more than 4,000 works. Its newest exhibition, Art of Food, opens on May 16, 2025. In addition to its art offerings, the museum also houses a lovely “Claire’s” on-site restaurant with a fabulous view of the beach, and provides a variety of educational programs for both children and adults. Ron is looking forward to collaborating with the city and hosting events during the upcoming Olympics.
Lisa Mauck presented Barbara Jordan, not present, and Betty Hercus handmade decorated “chicks” by Julie Taboda, in honor of winning The Judges Favorite and Member Favorite Awards at the April Flower Show.
New members, Jan Coyne-Jones, Michelle Wimbish and Maureen Cohen were welcomed and presented with their RED APRONS.
