FLORAL ARRANGEMENT TIPS & TRICKS

If you weren't thinking that spring was just around the corner, Monday's General Membership meeting was certainly a reminder. Leigh Ann Janelli, owner of Sweet Peas Florists here in Naples, presented a demonstration on how to create entries for four of the categories at the NIGC Flower Show: Small Container, Teacup, Place Setting and Themed Arrangement. Along the way she shared tips and suggestions, which is how I learned that fillers go into a container first because they help establish the shape of the arrangement. Did you know that? I always thought they were used to fill in empty spaces! We hope to be using her many suggestions as the Spring rains promise gardens full of colorful blooms!
