Veterans Day - 2023

Saturday, November 11th dawned clear and sunny, as it always seems to, when the Naples Islands Garden Club hosted its annual Veterans Day observance at La Bella Fontana Park. President Deborah Smith welcomed everyone and a floral wreath was placed at the flagpole. The Boy Scouts presented the colors, and then 3rd District Councilmember, Kristina Duggan honored the Veterans in attendance by thanking for them for their service to our country and expressed appreciation for their willingness to protect our freedom and our way of life. 

Event co-chairs, Linda Pillsbury and Lynne Clarke passed the microphone so that the Veterans could introduce themselves and tell where and in which branch they served. The observance ended with the singing of “God Bless America,” led by Marilyn Bittle.
