Our May meeting was a fabulous and informative presentation by Dana Ehrman GG (Graduate Gemologist) Director of Bonhams Fine Jewelry in Los Angeles. Dana comes from a family jewelry business and has more than 30 years of experience. She first gave us an overview of jewelry and its value. NIGC BRIDGE END-OF YEAR LUNCHEON 2019
A new award was introduced at the End of Year Bridge Day - the “Sally Riley Memorial Award”. Sally was the heart, the soul, the embodiment of NIGC's bridge round robin. This award is given to the team who produces the most bountiful, beautiful and improved results in comparison to the previous year. The award was 2 beautifully decorated over-sized cupcakes. BEAUTIFICATION SIGNS INSTALLED
With support from the NIGC Board and Garden Club, signs are being installed identifying NIGC Beautification Projects around Naples Islands. The signs were designed by Cathy Black-Smith and Nancy Pinckert using a poppy floral graphic by Yoshiko Yamamoto of Arts & Crafts Press in Tacoma, Washington. The signs recall the Islands’ Arts & Crafts past while noting the Garden Club’s current beautification efforts. They will be posted on some of the 2nd Street planters, the Naples Pl

Beautiful May Day bouquets and doorways were a special way to share this thoughtful celebration of kindness.


Dine out night at MICHAELS
Michael's of Naples Dine Out evening began on the rooftop as members gathered to enjoy camaraderie and delicious wines and cocktails. Dinner was enjoyed upstairs, downstairs and in Michael's Pizzeria. Our club received a generous $1,000 from restauranteur Michael Dene from the last Dine Out event of the year.


GARDENS AT THE GETTY: NIGC EXCURSION
A wonderful time was had by all on the Getty excursion! Between venturing into the beautiful gardens and enjoying each other’s company over a fun bus ride and great snacks, this LA adventure will forever be a fond memory shared by all attending Garden Club ladies.


COLORADO LAGOON TOUR
Daniel, the naturalist for Friends of Colorado Lagoon, guided 32 members and friends on a walk around the restored lagoon and explained the plans now underway for an exciting “Pase2"


ARBOR DAY 2019
The NIGC 2019 Arbor Day Memorial Tribute was a moving and uplifting morning. NIGC President Marianne Huntley gave a short history of the origin of Arbor Day and an explanation of our annual donation to the San Bernadino Forest Penny Pines program in tribute to each garden club member who had passed during the preceding year. HARMONY IN BLOOM !
What a beautiful day we had at the Flower Show! Such gorgeous arrangements were shared from members’ gardens which had flourished with Mother Nature's rainy and warm Spring! The judges were so complimentary about our talents. Thank you to everyone who submitted an entry in the Show allowing us to “ooh” and “aah” over all of them.
